Microsoft during its Xbox 20th Anniversary Celebration broadcast announced more Xbox 360 and original Xbox games will be getting backward compatibility, as well as more title gets FPS Boost on Xbox Series X|S. I have to praise steam in that respect.By William D'Angelo, posted on 15 November 2021 / 3,211 Views Because I do find these new controller options extremely useful for other games that either don't have controller support or could use a tweak or two.Īctually, it's quite amazing what options these new settings open up for controller users. What would be ideal for me is to be able to switch off this pseudo steam controller support in a per game basis, precisely for games such as binary domain where controller support goes wrong, or for games that don't require any tweaking whatsoever. This reverts back to the usual controller support of old, it seems. In my case I just need to untick xbox 360 support, or whatever. So what is not quite made clear is that you need to turn off your controller (at least, I did) go back into big picture mode and remove your controller from the config to disable this behaviour. The problem is that when you configure your controller-in my case, a non steam controller-in big picture mode, steam will enable those settings in desktop mode for all your games. anyone know how to get full native controller support without steam getting in between the game and the controller?Įdit: Okay, I think I understand how it works now! Hope this helps people.

In other games I have to enable big picture overlay for it to recoqnize the controller, or otherwise start the game from big pic mode. This is not the only game that I've had to "fix" so far. Now I find I have to use this trick for my controller to work properly in this game. The thing is, I have an xbox 360 controller and it used to work perfectly with this game until this new steam update with the controller support for big picture mode. Were you running the steam beta when you found you controller not working?
